Year 3

Welcome to the Year 3 class page.

While your children are not able to attend school, class teachers will be providing learning materials for your child to engage with. The activities are not compulsory but may be useful. They will include daily reading, mathematics and literacy activities. In addition to this, there will also be suggested activities for other areas such as science and history.

Children will benefit from consistency and routine during this time. Below we have created a suggested timetable for you to follow.

As well as the materials class teachers will be putting up, there is also a list of some very useful home educating websites for you to access.

Suggested Timetable

New Times Tables have been set on Times Table Rockstars- how fast are you now?

Challenge for the week:

Hello Year 3,

I hope you have had a nice week.  I love the fact that Ismail has been busy in the garden:

This week I would like you to have a go at creating something. It could be a cake, a paper plane, a drawing, a book, anything you like. You need to create it and then write a set of instructions explaining how you did it.

Ismail might write the steps needed for planting, such as 'take one cup of soil and place it carefully in the pot...'

Missing you all,

Miss Skilton

Fantastic to see that Kayla has been making pizza at home. It looks yummy!

Welcome to Year 3

Our class theme this term is ‘Out of Africa’

We’re off to Africa! We will be exploring a whole continent this term! Our Geography skills, in particular, will help us to find out about the people of Africa, the climate, the music, the land, the animals and, of course, the  traditional tales and colourful stories.  Our science will help further our learning about the bodies of humans and animals. We will focus specifically on an African animal and what it need to keep healthy.  Our art will reflect these adventures too as we take a careful look at the patterns we see on African animal’s skin.
